Although not as good as yesterday due to an early morning breeze, we still managed over 20 good fish between the both of us. I think the popper fishing is done. We didn’t catch a single fish on topwater and the schools of busting fish in the deep water were gone. We saw one set of fins in the deep water and we managed only one fish in the deep water. Shallow water was the name of the game today and we got many fish in water that was a foot deep right on the bank. Steve hooked one pulling off of a snagged weed in a foot of water. Maybe the stripers are in there all the time. My first time fishing with Steve who is in his 70’s and in is in great shape. He definitely knows his stuff and it wont be the last time we fish together.
