No such thing as a moderate republican..

I use to think that there was no place for politics in retirement.  That I was too old to benefit from or get hurt by staying out of politics but I find myself more concerned about what’s at stake in this months election as a grandparent.    I get it that abortion is a big issue that may never be resolved but its still a choice that each state makes.    I didn’t vote for Obama or Biden but I live with the economic hardships they created for me for 12 years and have done well despite.   Racism has gotten worse and now Asians and Jews are no longer considered minorities.    I don’t feel close to any of my liberal democratic friends anymore because no one wants to discuss and debate issues.   They just spew hatred for Trumps personality.  Recently a buddy told me he hated Trump and considered himself a “moderate” republican and was going to vote for Harris because his wife thinks women will die by the thousands from illegal abortions if she doesn’t (which is ridiculous).  I use to know moderate republicans,  I was friends with moderate republicans, and you sir are no moderate republican.

But in today’s politics, there’s no such thing as a “moderate Republican” anymore, and you can blame the liberals for that. The Democratic Party, with its crusading hordes of woke warriors and progressivist zealots, has pushed the political battlefield so far to the left that any Republican who tries to stand in the middle gets shredded. It’s not that moderates disappeared on their own—they were systematically hunted down, ambushed by a liberal agenda that left no room for compromise, no room for anyone who wasn’t lockstep with the latest left-wing dogma.

Let’s face it, the Democrats have gone off the rails. Over the last two decades, they’ve transformed from a party of reasonable debate into an army of ideological stormtroopers, blitzing the country with their visions of social justice utopias and big-government solutions for everything under the sun. They’ve gone so far left that the political center barely exists anymore, and anyone who tries to straddle it is left clinging to a collapsing cliffside. They’ve built a cultural juggernaut, propped up by academia, the media, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley—spitting out a nonstop barrage of progressive rhetoric that leaves moderate Republicans with two options: get in line or get out.

The Democrats, drunk on their own self-righteousness, have dragged the entire playing field leftward, and the GOP was forced to follow. There’s no middle ground anymore because the left doesn’t want one. They want total submission to their progressive agenda. They’ve weaponized everything—race, gender, climate, guns, you name it—and every time a Republican even hints at compromise, they’re torn to pieces. Moderates? They don’t stand a chance. The left made sure of that. The moment a Republican shows the slightest willingness to negotiate, they’re branded a coward, a RINO, or worse—someone who actually believes in the liberal vision of America. And that’s political suicide.

You think there’s still a middle ground in American politics? Dream on. The Democrats moved the goalposts so far left that they’ve turned the center into a graveyard. Moderate Republicans got steamrolled by the same liberal juggernaut that demands ideological purity and calls anything less than radical reform a betrayal. It’s not the GOP that killed off the moderates—it’s the Democratic Party’s relentless obsession with pushing its agenda to the absolute limit.

The Republicans had no choice but to hunker down, harden their defenses, and say “enough.” The Democrats made it clear there’s no room for moderation in their vision for the future, so now the GOP has to fight like hell or be trampled in the culture wars. Moderate Republicans? They were just collateral damage in the liberal steamroller, sacrificed on the altar of progressivism.

Elon knows it, and if you don’t believe he is the genius of our age.  Thats a debate for another day that you will certainly lose.
