The Crestliner

Recently my search for a two man fishing boat that “the boss” sais has to fit in the garage or no go,  came to an end with the purchase of a used Crestliner Angler 14.  The boat was is good condition by for a gadget guy like me, not good enough.  The reconstruction and restoration involved adding a swing tongue to the trailer, tuning up the outboard and adding the latest trolling motor technology I could find.    After stripping and repainting the trailer,  adding the swing tongue, rewiring all the electronics, adding a iPhone dock,  music amp, Terrova I-pilot trolling motor, a rear casting platform, rod and tackle storage, a new anchor, and in boat two battery charger with two optima batteries, I am close to finishing the main renovations.  Mark and I took the boat out to San Luis Resevoir and fully loaded, the boat goes 22 mph WOT and yet the 25 hp Yamaha can troll all day at 1.5 mph.
