Monday July 6, 2020 – A fire on the foothills near our house gave us a scare. There were many grass fires over the 4th of July weekend in San Jose which doesn’t surprise me much since all 4th of July fireworks were canceled. I can not recall ever having controlled city sponsored fireworks cancelled because of fire danger. I guess the fear of Covid infections is more scientifically scary than encouraging the illegal use of fireworks by kids because off the cancelled events.
A Cal Fire Helicopter dropped a load of fire retardant on the flames and then made a half a dozen runs with water from Calero Reservoir to put out this hillside fire. I had a great chance to test out my Panasonic 100-400mm ƒ/4-6.3 ASPH POWER OIS LEICA DG VARIO-ELMAR lens on a GH5 .
