Cal vs Davis Football Opener

Sometimes  its wise to sit in neutral territory.  Although, we thought it would be a good idea to sit in the old Berkeley Memorial Stadium just one more time before they tear it down and rebuild it next year.  I am looking forward to watching CAL football at AT&T park next year.  The Davis students…

We use to wake up at 6 in the morning 5 months in advance of when we wanted to camp and hammer the site until we got our reservations. We even used a war dialer before the Internet!  This years camping was made possible  Mia scalping some tickets on Craigslist. I have to admit that…

How NOT to Judge Speech and Debate

This will be the 4th year that Gina and I have judged speech and debate tournaments that Mia and Mark have entered.  And till now this is the first time I have  ever felt motivated to say something about the judging at these tournaments. This year, Christmas seems different with our daughter returning from a successful semester at UC Berkeley. And, the annual neighborhood Luminarias, Caroling, and Party was renewed with most of the neighborhood kids returning for the holidays.  The annual Disneyland Trip was cool since Mark and Gina had Birthday goodies–a 75 dollar gift card and a…
