No Bowl Sanctions for Oregon….wheh

Oregon got away with a big one today. It must be Karma for all the bad calls they suffered last year. After months of speculating about how the NCAA recruitment violations would effect the next seasons, all that stress about Oregon being post season ineligible is gone. The NCAA stripped Oregon of a scholarship in…

Phoebe Hsieh’s Commencement Speach

Mark’s Girlfriend–Phoebe Hsieh–graduated from Leland High School today and impressed the crowd with her excellent commencement speech. UC Berkeley Commencement 2013

So in a day ,  what seemed to be the ultimate goal, has come and past.  It was a hopeful wish the day she was born, a landmark that I planned my retirement around,  and a source of anxiety as we watched the cost of education rise faster than our savings plan. Mia Syn, our…

Spring Break is Over

It was nice having both kids back for a little while this past weekend..  Marks two jobs at Oregon requires a car so we sold his non speed bump friendly BMW 330 and purchased a 2009 Mazda3 Hatchback with the help of expert mechanic and friend Ryan Rich.  He headed out today for school, but…

Duck Addiction and the Sweet 16

Most thought it was impossible, but the Oregon Ducks have made it to the sweet 16.  Cal as usual went down in flames and reinforced the idea that a PAC12 teams are weak.   It was serendipity when Friday’s session of the tournament featured the Ducks and Bears in sequential games in San Jose with two wins…

In the end, Oregon is #2 in the BCS

The BCS college football season ends with The Tide drowning The Irish in a blowout that not even Rudy could have saved.  Although the game started out like an Ducks Beatdown Romp, it was nice of Mussberger to break up the monotony with a ” babe sighting” . Entertaining was his semi rapist ogling –“Wow,…

Oregon Ducks are number one…..

What a great Stadium. Our first game in the new stadium did not disapoint. Mias apartement 50 yards from the enterence guaranteed us close parking and I felt like a VIP. The Ducks killed the Bears 59 to 17. It was cold but there was almost more Oregon Green in the stadium than Cal fans.…

We are Empty Nesters…

There comes moments in ones life when you feel like something epic has happened but you cant put your finger on exactly what it is.     I felt that way this weekend as we made the ten hour drive to Eugene Oregon to set up our son at the University of Oregon.   This picture sais it all–its hard…
